(01) What it does

Oskuvi TH Expressions makes the editor read the expressions of Thymeleaf templates: what stands in the th: and data-th- attributes of your HTML files.

The five kinds of expression (${…}, *{…}, #{…}, @{…} and ~{…}), their strings and operators are coloured and their brackets matched. The editor also goes from a template to the fragments and message keys it names, completes fragment names and message keys, and flags a template, fragment or message key that doesn't exist.

The plugin only reads your files. It contacts no address and sends nothing anywhere.

(02)Who it's for

Made for people like these.

  • Spring Boot developers who write Thymeleaf templates in IntelliJ IDEA.
  • Developers working in an edition of the IDE without JetBrains' own Thymeleaf support.

(03)Key features

What's in it, feature by feature.

  • 01

    Five kinds of expression

Variable, selection, message, link and fragment expressions are coloured, with their strings and operators.

  • 02

    Brackets matched

The brackets of every expression are matched, so a missing brace stands out.

  • 03

    Go to fragments and messages

From a template to the fragments and message keys it names.

  • 04

    Completion

Fragment names and message keys are completed as you type.

  • 05

    Checks

A template, fragment or message key that doesn't exist is flagged in the editor.

  • 06

    Quieter HTML checks

Since 1.0.2, the editor's own HTML checks no longer flag th: attributes, <th:block> or the Thymeleaf namespace.

(04)FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is it free?

You can try it free for 7 days. After that it needs a licence, sold through JetBrains Marketplace; the plugin's Marketplace page shows the price.

What if JetBrains' own Thymeleaf plugin is installed?

In the free IntelliJ IDEA, JetBrains' Thymeleaf plugin knows the th: attributes but colours nothing, so Oskuvi TH Expressions does its work there. It steps aside only where JetBrains' paid Thymeleaf support runs, as in IntelliJ IDEA with an Ultimate subscription.

Where does it look for templates and message keys?

Templates are found as templates/<name>.html, and message keys in your messages*.properties files.

Does it send my code anywhere?

No. Oskuvi TH Expressions only reads your files, on your machine. It contacts no address and sends nothing anywhere.

(05)Related

Thymeleaf is an open-source project of its own authors. Oskuvi TH Expressions is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Thymeleaf project. JetBrains, IntelliJ IDEA and PyCharm are trademarks of JetBrains s.r.o.
