DevOps & Managed Operations
Controlled releases, dependable operations
We build the pipelines, infrastructure and monitoring your software needs, and can keep running them: controlled releases with approvals and rollback, tested recovery, managed access, and model and agent operations for AI products.
What you get
- Releases without drama. Automated checks, approvals and rollback make shipping routine.
- Problems found early. Monitoring and alerting catch issues before your customers report them.
- Responsibility that continues. A team that knows your system stays accountable after launch, on terms agreed for your engagement.
(01) Overview
Specialist services in this capability
Shipping is only the start of a product's life. After launch, software needs repeatable builds, environments that don't drift, and monitoring that spots a problem before your customers do.
AI speeds up the operational work: reading logs, tracing incidents, drafting infrastructure changes and preparing routine maintenance. Everything it helps prepare is reviewed by an engineer and goes through the same pipeline, approvals and rollback path as any other change. Agents never get unrestricted access to production.
For AI products, operations cover the model as well as the servers: evaluating model and prompt changes, watching inference cost and latency, reviewing tool permissions and releasing updates under change control. Private model infrastructure can also be scoped as a separate engagement. Operations are built into every NPCoding project and are available on their own.
Is this the right service?
Choose DevOps & managed operations when
- Releases are manual, risky or depend on one person
- You need monitoring, backups you've actually restored, and someone responsible when something breaks
- An AI feature in production needs evaluation, cost and latency tracking, and controlled updates
Consider instead
- Private AI Infrastructure if the main need is hosting and operating private AI models for your own teams.
- QA & Release Assurance if you need evidence that a release works, rather than a way to ship and run it.

Backups, restoration tests and a documented recovery plan with agreed recovery objectives.
- 05
Access, secrets & dependencies
Least-privilege access, managed secrets, and regular dependency and security updates.
- 06
Performance & cost reviews
Regular reviews of speed, capacity and infrastructure spend, including inference costs for AI features.
Running software another team built?
We can take over operations for an existing application. We start by reviewing its infrastructure, pipelines, backups and access, then agree a plan to stabilize it and keep it running.
(03)Who does what in operations
Responsibilities agreed before anything breaks.
An illustrative split for a managed-operations engagement. Every engagement agrees its own, including support hours and response times.
| Area | NPCoding | You |
|---|---|---|
| Releases | NPCoding:Run the pipeline, approvals and rollback | You:Approve release windows for business-critical changes |
| Monitoring & alerts | NPCoding:Configure alerts and respond within the agreed hours | You:Name a contact for business decisions during incidents |
| Backups & recovery | NPCoding:Schedule backups and test restoration | You:Agree the recovery objectives |
| Access & secrets | NPCoding:Manage least-privilege access and rotation | You:Approve who gets access |
| Dependency & security updates | NPCoding:Prepare, test and release updates | You:Agree maintenance windows |
| AI models & agents | NPCoding:Evaluate and release model, prompt and tool changes | You:Sign off behaviour changes that affect customers |
(04)AI & responsibility
How AI assists operations.
Where AI helps
- Reading logs and traces to narrow down an incident
- Drafting infrastructure-as-code and pipeline changes
- Preparing dependency and security updates
- Summarizing alerts, capacity and cost trends for review
What our experts own
- Approving every production change
- Access controls, secrets and permissions
- Recovery plans and restoration tests
- Incident decisions and follow-up
(05)When you run AI in production
Operating AI agents with the same discipline.
For deployed AI features, operations cover the model as well as the servers.
- 01
Model & prompt evaluation
Model, prompt and tool changes are tested against evaluation sets before release, and released with rollback.
- 02
Latency & cost
Watch inference latency and usage costs, with alerts and budgets that prevent surprises.
- 03
Tool permissions
Regular reviews of what each agent can read and do, with credentials scoped to the job.
- 04
Human escalation
A clear route for the agent to hand a case to a person, and for people to pause the agent.
(06)Our process
How we deliver DevOps & managed operations.
- 01
Assess
Review the current infrastructure, deployments, monitoring, backups and access.
- 02
Plan
Agree environments, release controls, recovery objectives and who is responsible for what.
- 03
Automate
Build pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring and alerting, with every change reviewed.
- 04
Prove recovery
Test backup restoration and rollback before they're needed.
- 05
Operate & review
Run releases, maintenance and incident follow-up as agreed, with regular performance and cost reviews.
(07)Connected capabilities
Connected work, one accountable team.
How the other capabilities support DevOps & managed operations on a project.
QA & Release Assurance
Releases are gated by the QA suite, and each production incident comes back as a regression test.
Software & App Development
Engineers and DevOps share one pipeline, so agent-assisted changes reach production the same way as any other.

(10)FAQ
DevOps & Managed Operations: your questions.
What does managed operations include?
Whatever we agree for your engagement. That typically means releases, monitoring and alert response, backups and restoration tests, access and secrets management, dependency and security updates, and regular performance and cost reviews. Support hours, response commitments and responsibilities are defined for each engagement.
Do AI agents have access to our production systems?
Not on their own. AI helps engineers investigate issues and prepare changes faster, but production changes go through the same pipeline, checks and approvals as any other change, with a rollback path. Agent credentials are scoped to the task and reviewed.
Do you offer 24/7 support or an SLA?
We don't publish a one-size-fits-all SLA. Support hours and response commitments are agreed per engagement, based on what your product and your users need.
Can you operate our AI features as well as the application?
Yes. For AI features we add evaluation of model and prompt changes, inference latency and cost tracking, tool-permission reviews and controlled updates, alongside the usual application operations.
Can you take over operations for an app another team built?
Yes. We start with a review of its infrastructure, deployments, backups and access, fix what's urgent, then agree a plan and responsibilities for ongoing operations.
Where will our application be hosted?
Wherever fits your requirements: in your own cloud account, or in another environment agreed for the project. If data residency matters, we design for it and document where each component runs. Residency is established by the architecture and the agreements, not assumed.
