(01) What it does

Oskuvi Metric Queries makes the editor read the query language of Prometheus: in .promql files, and in the expr: of the Prometheus rule files in your project, including Kubernetes PrometheusRule resources and promtool's rule tests.

Metric names, label matchers, functions, aggregations and their modifiers, durations, numbers and strings are coloured and brackets are matched. The editor also completes functions, aggregations and the series your project's rules record, goes from a recorded series to the rule that records it, and flags queries Prometheus would refuse.

The plugin only reads your files. It contacts no address and sends nothing anywhere.

(02)Who it's for

Made for people like these.

  • Engineers who keep alerting and recording rules in a repository.
  • Teams that write PromQL in .promql files or Kubernetes PrometheusRule resources.

(04)FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is it free?

There's a 7-day free trial. After that, the plugin needs a licence from JetBrains Marketplace, and its page there shows the price.

Does it connect to my Prometheus server?

No. It contacts no address. The series it completes come from your project's own rule files, not from a live server.

Does it check query types?

No. It checks syntax, not whether a range vector or an instant vector fits where it is used.
