(01) What it does

Oskuvi Flow for Git puts the steps of the git-flow branching model into the Git™ menu of the editor: start and finish a feature, a release and a hotfix, each with one action.

Start Feature makes feature/<name> from develop and switches to it; Finish Feature merges it into develop and deletes it. Finish Release merges into the main branch, tags it with the version, merges back into develop and deletes the release branch. Every merge keeps a merge commit, and it works with main or master.

It never pushes, never forces, never resets, never rebases, and never deletes a branch that isn't merged. It runs plain Git commands through the editor's own Git support and doesn't need the git-flow command-line tool.

(02)Who it's for

Made for people like these.

  • Teams that use the git-flow branching model.
  • Developers who want git-flow inside the IDE without installing the command-line tools.

(03)Key features

What's in it, feature by feature.

  • 01

    Set Up Branches

Makes the develop branch from your main branch when it is missing.

  • 02

  • 04

    Releases and hotfixes

Start and finish a release or a hotfix, with a tag on the main branch.

(04)FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is it free to use?

It has a 7-day free trial; after that it needs a licence. The price is on the plugin's JetBrains Marketplace page.

Does it push my branches?

No. Sending your branches and tags to a server stays your own step, with the editor's Push.

What happens when a merge stops on conflicts?

Nothing is rolled back and nothing is deleted. You are told which steps were done, where you stand, and that you can resolve and commit or abort the merge.

Can I change the branch names?

Not in this version. It uses the usual names: develop, feature/, release/ and hotfix/.
