The client
The Hebrew University is one of the leading research institutions in the region. Its departments operate a wide range of scientific instruments that researchers can rent for their work.
The brief
Researchers needed a single, reliable place to discover which instruments are available for rent, where they sit organizationally, and what they're used for. The information already lived in the university's own systems, so the portal had to present it clearly while staying in sync with that source.
What we built
We specified, designed and developed a fully custom portal, tailored to the university's needs.
One catalogue across departments
The portal displays all instruments available "for rent", divided by department and by area of expertise, so a researcher can browse the way they think — by field or by facility.
Live data through an API
Instead of re-typing information into a website, the portal pulls its data from an API interfaced with the university's systems. When the source changes, the portal reflects it — the university keeps a single source of truth.
Built for researchers
The entire site is in English and designed for a research audience: clear structure, fast navigation and no marketing fluff between a researcher and the instrument they need.
How we worked
The project followed our standard path: a precise specification, custom design, development and integration with the university's systems.
The outcome
The portal is live at huji-rcf.com, giving researchers one place to find the university's rentable instruments, always in sync with the systems that manage them.
