Undomo Privacy Policy

Last updated

This policy covers Undomo Backup & Restore ("Undomo"), our app for Shopify stores. It explains what the app reads from your store, what it keeps, and when it deletes it. Our general Privacy Policy covers this website.

1. Who we are

NPCoding ("we", "us") builds and runs Undomo. Questions about this policy go to support@npcoding.com.

2. What the app reads and keeps

When you install the app, Shopify gives it access to your store's catalogue and online store content. Every day, and whenever you press "Back up now", the app saves a copy of:

  • Products: titles, descriptions, status, vendor, type, tags, options, variants (prices, compare-at prices, SKUs), SEO title and description, metafields, and copies of the product images.
  • Collections: titles, descriptions, conditions or product lists, sort order, SEO, metafields and image.
  • Pages and blog posts: titles, content, published state and metafields; for blog posts also the summary, tags, image and the author name shown on the post.
  • URL redirects and navigation menus.
  • The files of your live theme.

It also keeps a short list of product and collection changes that Shopify reports to the app (when it happened, what kind of change, the item's ID and title), so it can show what changed since the last backup.

To work with your store, the app keeps your store's myshopify.com address and the access token Shopify issues to the app.

3. What the app does not touch

The app does not ask for access to customers, orders, checkouts or payments, and none of that data is in a backup. Billing for the app runs through Shopify; we never see your card details.

4. Why we keep it

Only to back up your store, show you what changed between backups, and put an item back the way it was when you ask for that. We don't sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone to use for their own purposes.

5. Where it is kept

Backups, the change list and the app's database are kept on Google Cloud in the United States (Iowa). Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and only the app and NPCoding staff who maintain it can reach it. Google Cloud is our hosting provider; Shopify provides billing. We don't use other service providers for this app.

6. How long we keep it

  • Each backup is kept for 90 days. The newest backup is always kept while the app is installed.
  • The list of changes is kept for 90 days.
  • When you uninstall the app, its access token is deleted right away. Shopify asks us to erase the store's data 48 hours later, and we then delete every backup, image copy and change record for the store. Deleted files can stay in Google Cloud's recovery storage for up to 7 more days before they are gone for good.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time what data we hold for your store, or ask us to delete it, by writing to support@npcoding.com from the store owner's email. Uninstalling the app deletes everything as described above.

Shopify can also send us requests about a customer's data. Because the app keeps no customer data, there is nothing to send or erase for those requests.

8. Changes

If we change what the app keeps or how long we keep it, we will update this page and the date at the top.
