## What it does

Oskuvi Code Metrics measures the Java code you select and shows where it has grown hard to follow: per method, per class and per package.

Per method you get lines of code, cyclomatic complexity, cognitive complexity, parameters and the deepest nesting; per class, its size, methods, fields, weighted methods, worst method, inheritance depth and coupling. “Only over a limit” leaves the methods and classes worth a second look, using the limits most teams quote.

It works on code that doesn't compile yet, reads up to 5,000 classes per selection, and only reads your code, on your machine.

## Who it's for

- Java developers looking for the methods to refactor first.
- Reviewers and leads checking where a codebase has grown hard to follow.

## Key features

- **Per method, class and package:** Lines of code, cyclomatic and cognitive complexity, parameters, nesting, coupling and inheritance depth.
- **Only over a limit:** Cyclomatic 10, cognitive 15, 60 lines and 5 parameters for a method; 500 lines and coupling 20 for a class.
- **Straight to the code:** Double-click a row to go to the method or the class.
- **Folders and packages:** Several files, folders and packages at once.
- **CSV and HTML export:** Export what you see as CSV, or the whole report as one self-contained HTML page.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it free?

Free for 7 days as a trial, then it needs a licence. You'll find the price on its JetBrains Marketplace page.

### Which languages does it measure?

Java. Files in other languages in the selection are counted and named as skipped, not measured by Java's rules.

### Can I change the limits?

Not in this version. The limits are the ones most teams quote, listed above.

### Does it send my code anywhere?

No. Oskuvi Code Metrics only reads your files, on your machine. It contacts no address and sends nothing anywhere.
