A website for the historic port of Akko (Acre) in three languages — showcasing its attractions, displaying live weather conditions through an API, and letting boaters register and reserve a mooring spot.

## Case study facts

- **Client:** Akko Port
- **Industry:** Public Sector & Culture
- **Project type:** Corporate website
- **Platforms:** Real-time weather API
- **Services:** Web & Mobile App Development, API Development
- **Live site:** https://akko-port.org.il/

## What NPCoding delivered

- Three languages: Hebrew, Arabic and English
- Real-time weather and sea conditions through an API
- Registration and mooring-spot reservations for boaters

## The client

Akko (Acre) Port is a historic harbour and a destination in its own right, with attractions for visitors and mooring for boaters.

## The brief

The website had to serve **very different audiences**: visitors discovering the port, and boaters who need practical, up-to-date information and a way to secure a berth — in a **multilingual** setting.

## What we built

We specified, designed and developed the site.

### An experience of the port and its attractions

The site gives visitors an impression of the port and what there is to see and do — the starting point for planning a visit.

### Real-time conditions via API

The site is **connected through an API that pulls weather and related conditions, updated in real time** — essential information for anyone heading out on the water.

### Mooring reservations for boaters

Boaters can **register and reserve a mooring spot** online instead of arranging it by phone.

### Hebrew, Arabic and English

The whole site is available in **three languages — Hebrew, Arabic and English** — including right-to-left layouts for Hebrew and Arabic.

> **Multilingual, including right-to-left**
>
> Supporting two right-to-left languages and one left-to-right language in the same site affects layout, typography and navigation from the very first design decisions — it can't be bolted on later.

## The outcome

The port's [website](https://akko-port.org.il/) serves visitors and boaters in their own language, with live conditions on the page and online mooring reservations.
